POSITION INFORMATION
The Department of Revenue (DOR) seeks a talented and dynamic individual to join our fast-growing Cyber, Analytics and Taxation (CAT) team within the Compliance Division. As an Audit Business Systems Analyst (BSA) Coordinator you will use auditing skills to analyze DOR data for various teams within DOR and manage and lead major system improvement projects and new system developments in Compliance. This position utilizes a special combination of audit, accounting, and information technology skills.

Location: Building/Lincoln or Nebraska State Office Building/Omaha. Remote work is a possibility. 

Examples of Work: Essential Duties and examples of work include but are not limited to:

* Data Analytics – The Audit BSA Coordinator will clean, organize, and analyze historical data in order to reveal useful patterns and extract information. Additionally, the Audit BSA Coordinator will provide leads and recommendations from machine learning to help improve our processes.

* Economic Incentives - Assimilate data from different agencies; Analyze taxpayer data for compliance with the various economic incentive programs.

* Project Lead – Communicate with management to ensure agreement on system principles. Communicate business requirements to application developers for the development and modification of business systems. Establish timelines and ensure timely project completion.

* Technology Support - Provide technical instruction/assistance on how to use audit related automated applications; Investigate reported system malfunctions and document findings (solve user errors); Communicate with appropriate staff on identified malfunctions; Provide training to end users. 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process solutions for large-scale business system applications.

PREFERRED: In addition to the requirements above, preference for one or a combination of the following: (1) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, or Business Administration with experience in using SQL for data development and data analysis; (2) 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing; (3) knowledge of DOR tax and/or incentive programs; (4) experience working in Oracle and/or SQL server environment; (5) experience in programming languages.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate: analytical skills to evaluate data and perform ad-hoc query and create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems; interpersonal skills to liaison with business users and IT developers to help negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts; organizational skills to regulate the influx information to ensure projects stay within timeframe and budget.
