The County of San Diego, Health and Human Services Agency is currently recruiting for the position of

PHARMACIST
Pharmacist positions are located with Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) and the Sheriff's Department.  Pharmacists perform professional pharmaceutical work such as dispensing drugs and pharmaceutical supplies, conducting drug regimen reviews of patient records, and supervising the work of Licensed Pharmacy Technicians.

The current HHSA vacancy is located at the County's Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility at Edgemoor Hospital, which is a part of Inpatient Services in the Health and Human Services Agency's Behavioral Health Services Division.  This position at Edgemoor Hospital may be required to receive calls on weekends.

Examples of Qualifying Experience and Education:
  • Graduated from an accredited college or certified equivalency for foreign studies in pharmacy; AND,
  • One (1) year of verifiable experience as a registered pharmacist in one of the following California-licensed health care facilities: a pharmacy serving a skilled nursing facility, retail pharmacy, or hospital  (Note: Experience must have included IV admixture for positions at Edgemoor and the Sheriff's Department); AND,
  • A current and valid Pharmacist license, without restriction or probation, issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
