HEALTH SERVICES PROJECT COORDINATOR

Anticipated hiring range is $70,000 to $85,000 annually depending on qualifications.

The person selected to fill the current position of Health Services Project Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting San Diego County's shared vision to end homelessness by working with other jurisdictions, coalitions, advisory groups and providers; supporting the County of San Diego's comprehensive homeless policy; ensuring the coordination, collaboration, planning and review of systems to assist in closing service gaps.

The Health Services Project Coordinator is an unclassified position that reports to a designated Health and Human Services Agency executive and/or Assistant Deputy Director.  The incumbent has significant responsibility for formulating policy and for administering special projects including, but not limited to, those related to private/public partnerships and community based service. 

The ideal candidate will possess a professional history that demonstrates the following necessary leadership competencies and attributes:  Builds and supports mutually beneficial relationships with other organizations, associations and community contacts; has strong analytical skills to compile and interpret large amounts of data; coordinates services with multiple external groups; identifies risks and concerns and effectively articulates these issues to management and administration; has a solid understanding of the internal government processes; is sensitive to political dynamics within the stakeholder organizations; is able to effectively represent the County of San Diego in public forums".

The current opening is headquartered at 1255 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101.  This position may require the incumbent to use their own vehicle to travel to all regions of San Diego County. (Mileage is reimbursable per County Administrative Code XXVIa, Section 472.)

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires five (5) years of experience in formulating and implementing policies and programs in a large governmental organization.  The possession of a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable.
 
GENERAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:

The mission of the County of San Diego is to provide the best possible services to the County residents. Like any organization with an ongoing mission, the County engages in a continuous cycle of planning, implementing plans, monitoring implementation and then re-evaluating and renewing the planning process.
